Fairwater Development – Blacktown

Aquacomb Solutions Case Study

Developed by Frasers property, Fairwater in Blacktown is the first community in New South Wales to receive the highest rated 6 star Green Star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia. Aquacomb worked with Fraser Property on water retention solutions for the Fairwater development in 2018.

Frasers property required a water storage solution for the Fairwater project in Blacktown of Western Sydney. The solution required needed to be suitable for block sizes of 250m² and smaller. The homes are designed with distinct building materials which respond to the environment, including water sensitive urban design.

The solution

The team at Aquacomb worked with the engineers and architects at Frasers Property to incorporate 1,500 litre Aquacomb water retention systems in every home. Aquacomb was the most cost-effective solution for the size of the cosy blocks, where key considerations included yard access and space. All Fairwater homes are fitted with rainwater tanks, used for flushing toilets, washing machines and outdoor taps. This has environmental and cost benefits for the community.

Why Aquacomb
