The solution
The high water table level at this beachside site caused considerable problems with satisfying the council OSD requirements for stormwater retention on-site. This prevented deep excavation as a solution and Aquacomb as chosen as a simple and highly efficient resolution to this problem. Our OSD system, developed alongside EDA construction builders, illuminated the alternative solution to excavating a massive pit, to meet council’s OSD requirements.
The Aquacomb on-site stormwater detention (OSD) system allowed for a large volume of water detention without compromising space or requiring deep excavation. The specified system included 100 inter-connected pods linked laterally to retain 35,000 litres of rainwater overflow to meet on-site detention (OSD) needs. The system was incorporated in the concrete floor of the underground car park, stored stored out of sight.
